Probably because it's not incredibly profitable for them to manufacture this device if they have to sell it at a huge discount. I mean if there is no stock of Duo 2 by the holiday I think we can basically just acknowledge that they're not going to make it anymore and it's discontinued in all but name.ĭoesn't necessarily mean they won't make a duo 3 of some kind but it's not a good sign. In fairness I was skeptical the duo 2 would come out. Microsoft just announced a slew of new Surface products Surface Duo 2, Surface Pro 8, refreshed Surface Pro X to name a few. Basically abandoning the entire premise of the dual screen product and the benefits of having two discreet screens.īut I'm still 50/50 if a duo3 would ever be released at this point.
If there is a duo 3 it seems almost inevitable at this point it will be some kind of foldable. The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is different in all the right ways Most importantly, Microsoft added three more cameras to the phone, in the traditional wide, ultrawide, and telephoto setup. When is the last time someone could just buy one at any point? I mean it sure looks like they're done manufacturing the duo 2 or at least in significant numbers. Yeah you're getting downvoted but I think it's obviously plausible that they're going to abandon this project.
